Hydraulic Hose: Service and Repair

NOTE: Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.





Removal
1. Drain the clutch system (brake fluid) via the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder using bleed unit tool No. 88 19 096, or equivalent.
2. Disconnect the electrical connection to the anti-theft alarm's hood switch, if installed.
3. Remove the main fuse box and place it aside.





4. Undo the clip securing the delivery pipe adjacent to the master cylinder.
5. Withdraw the delivery pipe from the master cylinder.
- Install the clip.





6. Unscrew the delivery pipe from the slave cylinder's union.
7. Pull the delivery pipe out of the clamp on the engine bay wall.
8. Remove the pipe.

Installation
1. Blow the pipe clean and place it in position.
2. Press the delivery pipe into the master cylinder.





3. Connect the delivery pipe to the slave cylinder and tighten the nut to: 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
- Make sure that the pipe does not come into contact with the gearbox.
4. Press the pipe into the plastic clip.





5. Install the main fuse box and reconnect the anti-theft alarm's hood switch.
6. Top up with brake fluid and bleed the system.
7. Check that the connections are tight and do not leak.
8. Test the clutch.
