Checking the "Stalling" Speed





IMPORTANT: This test must not take longer than 5 seconds! Checking is not recommended for the turbo version.

The test shows the general condition of the engine and transmission by checking maximum engine revs in gear positions D and R.

To check the stall speed:
1. Chock all four wheels on the car.
2. Apply the handbrake fully.
3. Press the brake pedal hard.
4. Start the engine and move the selector [ever to position D.
5. Press the accelerator to the floor (wide open throttle) and quickly read the highest engine rpm attained.
The stall speed should be:
- 2,325 ± 150 rpm.

6. Repeat the test with the selector lever in position R.
The stall speed should be the same as above.
