Sport Mode Indicator Lamp

On cars equipped with a TCM (Transmission Control Module), i.e. electronically controlled automatic transmission, the indicator lamp lights up when the SPORT button on the selector lever is pressed.

In SPORT mode, the transmission remains longer in each gear. The transmission stays in SPORT mode until the SPORT button is pressed once again, the ignition is switched off or WINTER mode is engaged.

The lamp is supplied with current in the main instrument display panel and connected to ground by the TCM control module via pin 5 (12p-1) of the main instrument display panel.

When the ignition is switched on the lamp is tested for about 3 seconds. If no fault is detected the lamp will go out.
