Power Flow, Reverse Gear
The input shaft rotates clockwise and is connected to the sun wheel by clutch C2. The result is that the input shaft and the sun wheel rotate clockwise as a unit.
Brake B3 prevents the front planetary gear train's (P2) ring gear from rotating.
The front planet gear runs counter-clockwise on the inside of the front planetary gears train's ring gear at the same time as 4 rotates.
The planet cater and the driving intermediate gear rotate counter-clockwise as a unit at a lower speed than the input shaft.
Since the driving intermediate gear rotates counter-clockwise, the driven intermediate gear and the lower planetary gear train's (P3) ring gear rotate clockwise as a unit.
The lower planetary gear train's planet gear rotates clockwise.
Brake B4 prevents the lower planetary gear train's ring gear from rotating.
The lower planetary gear train's planet gear runs clockwise round the sun wheel at the same time as it rotates.
The lower planet carrier and the final gear rotate clockwise as a unit at a lower speed than the driven intermediate gear.
