Affixing airbag label

Cars in stock must be rectified before delivery. See Product Information with labels sent June 19, 1998.

Owners of cars already delivered will be informed of the fault by means of a personal communication requesting them to affix an enclosed label on their driver's side sun visor.

Cars affected

All cars produced after 2/25/97 and retailed prior to 6/24/98 in the following VIN ranges:

All 3D/5D with VIN from V2029560 to W2019918 inclusive

All CV with VIN from W006978 to W70O8286 inclusive

Background

An alert label concerning information on the inside of each sun visor must be affixed to the driver's sun visor in order to comply with requirements in FMVSS 208. (Passenger side label already installed.)

Parts required

50 10 103 Label enclosed in owner notification letter.

Procedure

Owner will fit a label in the position shown in the illustration in the owner notification later to be sent in early September.
