Technician Safety Information
WARNINGARCING MAY CAUSE BURN INJURIES
Although the system voltage is only 12 V, injuries may be caused by flash-over or fire in the car, since the energy content of the battery is very high. A short-circuit could give rise to extremely high currents.
HIGH TENSION
The electronic ignition system generates voltages higher than 48,000 V. Such voltages may be fatal to persons with a weak heart and those who have a pacemaker. Treat the entire ignition system with great respect.
BEFORE STARTING WORK ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
^ take off your wrist-watch and any rings you may be wearing
^ disconnect one of the battery terminals if any electrical components are to be removed
^ always follow the instructions and recommendations.
