Fault Handling, (III) Emission-Related Components/Functions

A diagnostic trouble code is generated when the fault criteria are satisfied.

For the diagnostic trouble code to be cleared without further action, 40 faultless warm-up cycles must be completed.

The CHECK ENGINE lamp (MIL) will light up if the fault recurs in the next driving cycle.

For the CHECK ENGINE lamp (MIL) to go out by itself, 3 consecutive driving cycles must be completed without the fault recurring.

For the diagnostic trouble code to be cleared, 40 faultless warm-up cycles must also be completed.
