Temperature Gauge: Description and Operation

The engine temperature sensor informs the ICE module of the temperature of the coolant.

This information is then passed on to the temperature gauge in the main instrument display panel, pin 9 (14p), in the form of a 500 Hz PWM signal when the ignition switch is in the Start or Drive position.

Main instrument display panel 1 governs the ICE module's temperature display, i.e. the breakpoints in the temperature display are programmed directly in the ICE module.
