Airbag Warning Lamp 1 (SRS Lamp)

Fault symptoms
The warning lamp does not light up when the ignition switch is turned to the Drive position.

Diagnostic procedure
1 In the event of a fault in the circuit to which warning lamp 1 is connected, diagnostic trouble code B1227 or B1228 will be generated in the airbag system and the central warning lamp will light up and stay on as long as the ignition remains switched on. Continue fault diagnosis as described in Service Manual 8:6 "Airbag" M1994 or 8:6 "SRS (airbag)" M1995-.
2 If the bulb is OK and no other faults can be found, remove the main instrument display panel's rear section complete with processor card and check that all leads between the processor card and the intermediate part are securely located. If any lead has worked loose or is broken, continue in "Before Control Module Replacement".

If the leads are OK, the fault is probably in the intermediate part with lamp bulbs and indicating instruments.
