Fault symptoms
The tachometer needle indicates too high engine revs and may point to 7000 rpm at the end of the dial.

Diagnostic procedure
1 Clear the trouble code, run the engine at different rpm for a few minutes and check whether the trouble code recurs.

If the trouble code does not recur, the fault was probably due to a computer error and can be disregarded.

If the trouble code recurs, continue tachometer fault diagnosis in "Fault Diagnosis/Tachometer (Rev Counter)".
