Installation






NOTE:
^ Step numbers below refer to numbers used in the illustrations.
^ In vehicle.

1. Make sure that there are no impurities or other foreign matter in the oil pan and thoroughly clean the flange with a suitable solvent.
2. Apply an even bead of Loctite 518, or equivalent, along the flange and then install the oil pan, then tighten pan bolts to: 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
3. Reinstall the protective plate, plug in the oil level sensor connector and press the cable back into its clamps.
4. Raise and install the sub-frame, tighten as follows:
Front: 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.).
Middle: 190 Nm (140.6 ft. lbs.).
Rear: 110 Nm plus an additional 75° (81.4 ft. lbs. plus an additional 75°).
5. Reinstall the nuts for the end pieces and tighten them to: 75 Nm (55.5 ft. lbs.).






6. Clean the joints on the exhaust pipe.
7. Install the bolt securing the catalytic converter to the bracket on the engine but do not tighten it.
- Bolt the front exhaust pipe to the turbocharger.
- Before installing, apply Molykote 1000, or equivalent, to the threads of the turbocharger studs.
8. Tighten the bolt securing the catalytic converter to the bracket on the engine and bolt the front exhaust pipe and the intermediate pipe together under the car.
9. Install the spoiler sections and road wheels.
- Tighten wheel bolts to: 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.).
10. Check that the oil drain plug is tight, lower the car to the floor and fill up with oil.
- Put back the dipstick and reconnect the oxygen (Lambda) sensor cables.
11. Remove the lifting beam, warm up the engine and check for leakage round the oil pan.
