Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 1 Belt Tensioner Loosening:





1. Disconnect air cleaner and position aside.
2. Loosen belt tensioner with ratchet handle extension and 6 mm drill, Fig. 1.
3. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front righthand wheel.
4. Remove crankshaft pulley and oil pump circlip.
5. Remove pump cover using large pair of slip-joint pliers, then the pump gears.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure marking on oil pump ring gear faces outward.
b. Insert pump gears and place pump cover correctly with aid of arrows.
c. Tighten crankshaft pulleys and wheel bolts to specifications.
