Horn






Fault symptom
The horn sounds continuously.







Diagnostic procedure
1 Check the horn
- Unplug the horn.
- Connect the test lamp to the horn's single-pole connector, black lead, and battery positive (Batt+).
Does the lamp light up?
[YES] Continue with point 2.
[NO] Change the horn.

2 Check the horn's connection to ground
- Check for continuity between the horn's single-pole connector (black lead) and pin 11 of the alarm's electronic control module.
- Also take a resistance reading across the connector and ground.
The resistance should be < 1 ohm.
Is the resistance OK?
[YES] Continue with point 3.
[NO] Repair or replace the wiring harness.

3 Final test
Check to see if the fault symptom persists.
Does the trouble persist?
[YES] Continue as described in "Before Changing The Electronic Control Module".
[NO] The remedial measures taken were correct or the fault is of intermittent nature.
