TCS Throttle Position
TCS THROTTLE POSITION
All 6-cylinder cars are equipped with Traction Control System (TCS). This means that the TCS control module distributes a throttle position signal which states the opening angle of the TCS throttle plate.
Under normal conditions the two throttles (main throttle and TCS throttle) operate synchronously, i.e. with the same opening angle. If the TCS system is activated, this means that the opening angle of the TCS throttle is reduced, i.e. the two throttles operate asynchronously. When the system is activated, it is the TCS throttle which indicates the actual opening angle and the gearbox control module receives the throttle position signal from the TCS in order to control the quality of the gear shifting.
The function ceases when:
- there is no accelerator throttle signal from TCS
- there is no TCS ACTIVE signal
- limp-home occurs.
