Owner Letter
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN 406VIN: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx
July 14, 1995
Dear Valued Saab Owner,
Saab Cars USA, Inc. is announcing a change in the maintenance schedule for your Saab 900 model equipped with the V6 engine. We are writing to inform you of the change and how it will affect you.
Currently in your Warranties and Service Record Booklet and your Owner's Manual, it states that the belt for the camshaft drive mechanism should be changed every 95,000 miles. Saab is now recommending that this belt be changed beginning with the 35,000 mile Major Service and intervals of 30,000 miles thereafter.
This belt will be replaced free of charge at your authorized Saab dealership during the 35,000, 65,000, and 95,000 mile Major Services. After that time the camshaft drive belt replacement cost will become the owner's responsibility.
During the initial service a sticker reflecting the change in maintenance intervals will be placed in your Warranties and Service Record Booklet and your Owner's Manual by your Saab dealership. The dealership will also perform upgrades to the belt drive mechanism and the water pump.
If you prefer, you can have this work performed before the 35,000 mile service by any authorized Saab dealership free of charge. Saab requests that you still follow the recommended maintenance of changing the belt at 35,000, 65,000 and 95,000 miles also.
Should you have any questions about this change, please contact our Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-955-9007 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday.
Thank you for your loyalty to Saab and we hope your Saab ownership experience will continue to be an enjoyable one.
