The Campaign

Saab Cars USA, Inc. has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may exist in certain 1995 900 Convertible models.

On certain 1995 900 Convertibles, the steering column shaft may have been misaligned at the time of installation. This misalignment could cause a fatigue failure in one section of the shaft, with a subsequent loss of steering control.





Vehicles within the affected VIN Serial No. Range are to be inspected using the procedure that follows. If the steering column shaft is found to be misaligned, it is to be replaced.

A VIN Status List is attached for your use as a checklist to keep track of cars that are completed or that remain to be done.
