General Information

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT FUSES
The car's +12 V power supply is fed to the various consumer units via three main fuse boxes, one in the dashboard, one in the engine bay on the bulkhead partition and a Maxi fuse holder in the engine bay behind the battery. Most of the fuses and relays are located in the main fuse box.

The fuses are of blade type and, together with their connecting sockets, give rise to a lower voltage drop than earlier types. They are also more resistant to corrosion.

Blade fuse colour coding:

Fuse Color
5 Amps Light brown
7.5 Amps Dark brown
10 Amps Red
15 Amps Blue
20 Amps Yellow
25 Amps Transparent
30 Amps Green
40 Amps Orange
30 Amps Green (Maxi)
40 Amps Orange (Maxi)
60 Amps Blue (Maxi)

Checking Blade Fuses:

Checking blade fuses
Each blade fuse has test sockets which can be used to check that the fuse is intact without the need to remove it. If both sockets are live, the fuse is intact.

On a fuse that has been removed it is possible to see whether it has blown.
