The Campaign
Saab Cars USA, Inc. has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may exist in certain 1995 900 models.
On early 1995 900 models with Motronic 2.10.3 Engine Control Modules (ECM), it is possible that an internal voltage drop can result in an intermittent fluctuating idle. The 2.10.3 ECM's must be inspected and/or replaced on these vehicles.
Vehicles Affected:
1995 900 with Bosch Motronic 2.10.3 Engine Management System and Secondary Air Injection (Manual and Automatic transmission) within the following VIN Serial No. Range:
S2000001-S2020094
S7010001-S7016141
Certain vehicles have already been corrected and have been excluded from this campaign. Be sure to check your DCS Recall Inquiry Screen before beginning any work. If in doubt, the date code on the ECM may be checked. Date Code B02 indicates that the car has already been updated with the correct ECM. No further work is necessary.
A warranty claim should be submitted even if only an inspection was made. This will ensure your payment for the work and update our recall records.
