A. Leakage From the Door Mirror Mounting Flange Seal

Symptom:
There is normally water in the door pocket. Leakage normally occurs when the car is parked, not when being driven.
1. Stress in door mirror mounting flange seal
Cars Affected:
S7000001 - S7018080
Parts:
Butyl tape source locally
Action:
a. Remove any flashing on the seal, using sandpaper or a razor blade. Take care not to damage the seal. See Figure 2.
b. Remove the door mirror and stick butyl tape to the top of the door mirror mounting flange as shown in Figure 2.
c. Continue work as described in PSI 04/95-0570 (Sec. 8, p. 113).
d. Continue work as described in PSI 02219-664 (Sec. 8, p. 135) "Putting Drain Holes in Door Pockets".
