1. Fitting A Foam Rubber Seal Between Front & Center Side Seals

Parts:

Foam rubber seal (1 per car) 45 58 086

a. Check that the top fabric extends over the side window. If it does not, fit a foam rubber seal between the front rail seal and the center rail.





b. Cut the foam rubber seal to the shape of the template illustrated and fit it as shown in Figure 7. Make sure that the foam rubber does not cover the adjusting screw pad.

Action:

a. Adjust the side seals outward. See page 135 in Service Manual 8:5.

b. Adjust the height of the side windows. See page 135 in Service Manual 8:5.

c. Adjust the top profile. See page 129 in Service Manual 8:5.

d. Check that no water leakage occurs. If leakage still occurs, continue with point below "Fix the front side seal's rubber strip".
