+ 30 Supply

Fault symptom
The theft alarm is not working.

Important: Loss of + 30 supply to the control module leads to total loss of function.
Check + 30 by arming/disarming the theft alarm. See Remote Control. Description and Operation
For US/CA, start fault diagnosis as point 1
For EU, start fault diagnosis as point 2.

Action
1 Check fuse 23
Check fuse 23 and check that there is voltage to the fuse.
Connect the test lamp between the fuse and a safe grounding point.
The test lamp should light.
If the test lamp lights, proceed to point 2.
If the test lamp doe4s not light, continue fault diagnosis in Service Manual 3:2 Electrical System, "+ 30 Power supply",

2 Check + 30 supply
Unplug connector H33-3.
Connect the test lamp between H33-3, pin 5 and a safe grounding point.
The test lamp should light.
If the lamp lights, proceed to point 4.
If the test lamp does not light, proceed to point 3.

3 Check the cable assembly to the fuses
- UC/CA
Connect the test lamp between fuse 23 and a safe grounding point.
The test lamp should light.
If the test lamp lights, check and take action on the cable assembly between connector H33-3, pin 5 and fuse 23.
If the test lamp does not light, continue fault diagnosis in Electrical System, "+ 30 Power Supply".

- EU
Connect the test lamp between fuse 1 and a safe grounding point. The test lamp should light.
If the test lamp lights, check and take action on the cable assembly between connector H33-3, pin 5 and fuse 1.
If the test lamp does not light, continue fault diagnosis in Electrical System, "+ 30 Power Supply".

4 Check the cable assembly to the control module
Conduct a continuity test on the cable assembly between connector H33-3, pin 5 and the control module, pin 25.
The resistance should be < 1 Ohm.
If the resistance is incorrect, take action on the cable assembly.
If the resistance is correct, proceed to point 5.

5 Final test
Check the function and check if the fault symptom remains.
If the problem remains, proceed to Before Control Module Replacement.
