DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES P0322, P0336
Crankshaft position sensor, input to control module incorrect or absent.

Fault Symptom.
Engine will not start, erratic running, misfiring.

Condition
The control module records more than 20 signals from the camshaft position sensor without receiving any signal from the crankshaft position sensor during the same period of time, or
The control module records the wrong number of ribs on the perforated disc during two consecutive revolutions at more than 1000 rpm.

Diagnostic Procedure.
1. Unplug the crankshaft position sensor connector and measure the voltage across pins 1 and 2 of the connector while engaging the starter motor.
The correct voltage is about 2-5 V (AC).

If the voltage OK, proceed to step 2.
If the voltage is not OK, or no voltage is present, check the resistance across pins 1 and 2. It should be 500-600 ohms.

If the resistance is OK, proceed to step 2.
If the resistance is NOT OK, check the wiring between the connector and the crankshaft position sensor.
If the wiring is OK, change the crankshaft position sensor.

2. Check The Wiring between pins 1 and 2 of the connector and pins 49 and 48 of the control module. Rectify any fault in the wiring.

If the wiring is OK, continue with the next step.

3. Remove the sensor from the crankcase and carry out a visual check to make sure that the perforated disc rotates with the crankshaft and that the holes are not clogged.
Also check that the distance between the disc and the sensor is about 0.4-1.3 mm. Rectify any fault.

If the cause of the fault has not come to light in spite of carrying out the above test, continue at "Before Control Module Replacement" for further diagnostic instructions. Before Replacing A Control Module
