Windshield Wiper Motor

NOTE: On air bag equipped vehicles, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts as needed.

1. Pry off protective cap at base of wiper arms with screwdriver, then remove nut and lift off arm.
2. Disconnect washer hose for hood from protective cover space between bulkhead partitions.
3. Remove rubber sealing strip from partition.
4. Remove clip for protective cover over space between bulkhead partitions.
5. Raise cover slightly and disconnect washer hose from underside, then remove cover.
6. Remove connector from bracket, then unplug connector.
7. Remove spindle guide covers, then the three bolts securing wiper mechanism.
8. Lift out entire wiper unit, then remove linkages from bracket and motor, Fig. 18.
9. Remove three bolts securing motor to bracket and separate motor and bracket, Fig. 19.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
