Action 2

1. Dismantle the gearbox and wash the molybdenum particles off all parts.

2. Replace the differential bearings and the tapered roller bearings on the input shaft and output shaft.

3. Install the new reverse gear assembly, P/N 87 43 460.

4. Check that reverse gear engages properly before fitting the gear case.

5. Reassemble the gearbox. Refer to Service Manual 4:1, "Manual gearbox," and fit it in the car.

Tightening torque, reverseing shaft support, 28 Nm (20.7 ft. lbs.).

6. Saab 900: Adjust the position of the gear lever as detailed in Recall 296.
