Changing the Gear Lever Bearing (Ball Socket and Ring)

NOTE: Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.





REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the gear lever.
2. Remove the spring which secures the spherical socket ring and disconnect the spherical socket ring by turning it anti-clockwise (bayonet socket).
- Remove the spherical socket.
3. In order to remove the spherical socket ring from the gear lever the gear lever knob must be removed.
4. Lubricate the bearing with Gleitmo 750 or equivalent lubricant.
5. Install the gear lever in the spherical socket.
6. Hook the spring on to the spherical socket hook.
- Place the ring in the spherical socket and ensure that the spring is under the heels of the ring.
- Then tighten and secure the spring in the spherical socket's hook.
7. Install the gear lever in the gear lever housing.
