Shift Linkage: Adjustments

1. Place gear lever in 4th gear.
2. Remove gearbox plastic plug and install locking pin tool 87 92 335, or equivalent, so 4th gear is fixed in gearbox. Locking pin ring should be all the way up.
3. Remove gaiter on gear lever and check that locking pin tool can be inserted into hole in lever housing. locking pin ring should be down in the hole. If it is not possible to insert locking pin, continue this procedure to adjust lever. If no adjustment is necessary, remove locking pin tool.
4. Remove clamp holding gear rod in linkage on gearbox, then ensure gear lever is in 4th gear.
5. Insert locking pin tool in gear lever housing. locking pin ring should be down in hole.
6. Tighten gear rod to linkage clamp nut to specifications.
7. Remove locking pin from gearbox, then install plastic plug.
8. Remove locking pin from gear lever housing and install gaiter.
9. Test shift linkage by changing gears.
