In Left Seal Holder

Removal
Precondition: gear case removed.
1. Remove the five screws of the seal holder and remove the seal holder by tapping with a drift from the backside. Put the shims, screws and seal holder in a safe place.
2. Press out the sealing ring with tool 87 91 311 and support 87 92 236.





3. Remove the O-ring with a small screwdriver or similar.





Installation
1. Press the sealing ring, using tools 87 90 859 and 83 90 312, until it makes contact. Use 87 92 236 as support.





2. Grease and carefully install a new O-ring.
3. Install the sealing ring with Shell Grease 1344 LIEP II.





4. Screw the seal holder and its shims in position. Tighten alternately to 20-24 Nm (14.5-17.5 ft. lbs.).
