Torque Converter: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Remove the transmission.
2. Lift out the torque converter.

Installing
1. Position the torque converter.
2. Check that the torque converter is correctly positioned, by placing a steel ruler on the torque converter housing's mating surface and measuring the distance between the mating surface and the driver plate's contact surface on the torque converter.
The distance should be:
- minimum 9 mm.
3. Install the transmission.
