Control System, Automatic Transmission

FAULT DIAGNOSIS
Self-diagnosis is incorporated in the transmission control module system. This means that the transmission control module is equipped with a built-in diagnostics function which records any faults that may arise in the system.

In the case of certain faults, a signal is sent from pin 6 of the transmission control module to the main instrument display panel which lights up the CHECK GEARBOX warning lamp at the same time as diagnostic trouble codes are generated.

These trouble codes can be read using an ISAT scan tool.

Limp-Home
In the case of certain faults in the control module or any of the information sensors, the system goes into the limp-home mode.

The car can then be driven to the nearest repair shop, as only some of the gears (3, 4 and R) will be available.
