Checking the "Stalling" Speed
CAUTION: This test must not take more than 5 seconds.
The test shows the general condition of the engine and the transmission by checking maximum engine speed in positions D and R.
Checking stalling speed:
1. Lock all four wheels on the car.
2. Apply the hand brake fully.
3. Press hard on the brake pedal.
4. Start the engine and set selector lever in position D.
5. Apply wide open throttle and quickly read the highest engine speed.
The stalling speed should be: 2300 ± 150 rpm.
6. Repeat the test with the selector lever in position R.
The stalling speed should be: 2300 ± 150 rpm.
