1994-97 model year 900 vehicles with 4-cylinder engines within the following VIN Serial No. Ranges: R2000001-V2019663, S7000001-V7003647
Background
Under certain conditions, the zinc-coated throttle control lever bushing in the throttle housing may corrode. causing the throttle lever on the throttle housing to bind. This binding could result in the throttle plate not returning to the closed position when the throttle pedal is released, and a subsequent loss of throttle control.
To address this concern, a bolt and nickel-plated bushing are to be installed on all affected vehicles. As much as possible, owners of affected vehicles will be notified by Saab Cars USA, Inc. All cars in your inventory must be rectified prior to retail delivery.
A VIN Status List will be supplied to you prior to any owner notification. Owners known to Saab will be identified on this list. If you do not receive a Status
List, this is an indication that no affected vehicles have been sold to/by your dealership.

An initial parts order of bolts and nickel-plated bushings equal to 50% (order any other part as needed) of the vehicles wholesaled to your dealership will be shipped automatically on or about April 15, 1997. If our records indicate that you have not received any affected vehicles, no automatic parts shipment will take place. Order additional parts as needed using DCS ordering procedures.
