Page 13 Technical Data

Injectors

Flow capacity is 107-115, it should be 127 +/- 10 ml/30s. The maximum permissible difference between the injectors is 13 ml.

Page 37 Technical description

Throttle position sensor

Pins 2 and 3 have been confused with each other in the text and the illustration. The text should read:
"Pin 3 is connected to ground via pin 30 of the control module."
"Information on the current throttle position passes from pin 2 to pin 53 of the control module. Signal voltage..."

Change the illustration accordingly.

Coolant temperature sensor

The resistance at 90°C (194°F) is wrong. It should be 0.20-0.24 kilo-ohms.

Page 40 Technical Description

In the illustration the valves are shown in the wrong order. Cylinder 1 should be at pin 17, cylinder 2 should be at pin 34, cylinder 3 should be at pin 16 and cylinder 4 should be at pin 35.

Page 44 Technical description

In the illustration, pin 3 of the position sensor (555) has been omitted by mistake. It is via this pin that the position sensor is in communication with grounding point G7S, Figure 6.

Pages 50 and 51 Technical description

In the illustration the cable from pin 33 of the control module (505) is connected to the wrong pin on the radiator fan pressure switch (166). For the correct pin connection, refer to Figure 7.

Page 58 Fault diagnosis

Three diagnostic trouble codes have been given the wrong number.

P1621 should be P1456, P1622 should be P1455 and P1628 should be P1602.

Page 63 Fault diagnosis

In the table, the Test readings for pin 44 have been mixed up. They should be 0-1 V (Radiator fan ON) and Batt+ (Radiator fan OFF).

Page 73 Fault diagnosis

Diagnostic procedure

Replace step 3 as follows:

3 With the ignition switched off and all current consuming equipment disconnected, measure the resistance across pin 2 of the valve connector and a good grounding point on the engine.
The resistance should be 20-40 kilo-ohms.
If it is not, check the lead to pin 5 of the control module for continuity and/or a short circuit.

Delete the Note.

Pages 75, 77, 79 and 81 Fault diagnosis

Diagnostic procedure

Replace step 4 as follows:

4 With the ignition switched off and all current consuming equipment disconnected, measure the resistance across pin 2 of the valve connector and a good grounding point on the engine.
The resistance should be 20-40 kilo-ohms for injectors 1, 2 and 4. For injector 3 the resistance should be 2-20 kilo-ohms because the main instrument display panel is connected in parallel to measure fuel consumption.
If the resistance does not coincide with these intervals, continue with the next point.

Page 88 Fault diagnosis

In the heading, delete P1171 and insert P1173.

The same applies to the text under the heading Condition, second paragraph should read:

P1172, P1173:
Air flow rate through...

Page 93 Fault diagnosis

Replace step 4 as follows:

4 With the ignition switched off and all current consuming equipment disconnected, measure the resistance across pin 1 and a good grounding point on the engine and also across pin 3 and a good grounding point on the engine.
The resistance should be 2-30 kilo-ohms.
If OK, proceed to point 6,
If not OK, proceed to point 5.

Page 139 Wiring diagram MOTRONIC 2.10.2 (I)

In the wiring diagram, delete the connection between crimped connection J103 and pin 4 of the Fuel pump relay (102). In addition, the fuse (number 24) supplying pin 18 of the control module (505) with a +30 voltage has the wrong number. It should be fuse number 28.

Page 139 and 141 List of components

In the list of components, 102 and 229 have been mistaken for each other. It should read 102 Fuel pump relay and 229 Main relay.

Page 141 Wiring diagram MOTRONIC 2.10.2 (II)

In the wiring diagram. cable E107 should be connected between pin 53 at the control module (505) and pin 2 of the position sensor (203). Pin 3 of the position sensor should be connected to crimped connection J26.
