Dear Mr. Sample,

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Saab Automobile AB has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1994 model year Saab 900 models. Our records indicate you are the current owner or driver of such a Saab.

The enclosed attachment contains a complete explanation of this safety problem and the specific modification which will be performed on your Saab. It also explains the precautions you should take until you can bring your Saab in to your dealer.

Your dealer should have an initial supply of replacement parts for this problem by July 1, 1994. We urge you to make an appointment with your Saab dealer as soon as possible after this date to alleviate this concern. Of course, there will be no charge for this service.

Your dealer would also like to take this opportunity to perform certain product updates and quality assurance checks as may be applicable to your new Saab 900. This could add from one and a half to three hours to the time the dealership will need to have your particular Saab and, of course, it will also be done at no charge.

Saab appreciates your cooperation and understanding regarding this isolated situation and we will do our best, along with your dealer, to minimize any inconvenience. We want to assure you that our engineering and safety standards will be upheld long after any Saab leaves the showroom.
