Add'l PDI Action: Replace Hose Clamps

Application:
1994-1995 9000 Models with Turbo and LPT Engines





Hose clamps of the wrong diameter have been fitted to the short hose from the coolant pipe between the turbocharger and throttle body. At the PDI or next scheduled service, please change these clamps as indicated.

Cars Affected:

1994-1995 9000 models equipped with Turbo and LPT Engines

Parts:

Hose clamp (2) 79 68 308

Hose (if necessary) 91 16 765

Action:

It Is recommended that this procedure be done with a cold engine.

1. Slowly remove the cap from the coolant reservoir to release any pressure in the system. Refit the cap.

2. Loosen the hose clamps.

3. Inspect the hose for damage. if there is evidence of damage from one or both of the clamps, the hose and clamps should be replaced.

NOTE
Try to perform steps 4 and 5 quickly to minimize coolant loss. If done on a cold engine, only a few drops will be lost.

4. Slip one end of the hose off of the coolant tube.

5. Slide the old clamps off and the new clamps on. Refit the end of the hose.

6. Tighten the clamps and start the engine to check for leaks. Be careful not to overtighten the clamps.

7. Top up the coolant reservoir if necessary.

At PDI or the next service interval, please change these clamps and submit a warranty claim using the following information:

Failure code: 26155-50-0-01/06-05.

Time allowance is 0.2 hr. which should be entered as straight time.
