A new special tool has been developed to aid in the measurement of front and rear brake rotors. This new special tool enables the technician to accurately measure a rotor for lateral run-out and thickness variation prior to resurfacing or replacement of the rotor (Figure 1). It can also be used for measuring the run-out of the hubs (Figure 2). Complete information for proper use of the tool can be found in the 900 Service Manual, Section 5-.1 Brakes, M1988-91-. Note that the instructions for using this tool that are found in the 900 Service Manual also apply to 9000 models.

This tool has NOT been designated as a required special tool. It is available for ordering from your servicing Saab Parts Distribution Center.
