Steering Wheel: Service and Repair


NOTE: On air bag equipped vehicles, refer to Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems), Service Precautions. Air Bag Systems Also refer to Service and Repair, Arming and Disarming.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air bag module retaining screws from underside of steering wheel, then disconnect electrical connector and remove air bag module.
3. Disconnect horn connector, then set wheels in straight ahead position.
4. Loosen steering column, then rock steering wheel loose and remove.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
