Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement
NOTE: The numbers found below in parenthesis ( ), refer to that number (and that part/component) found in the illustration.
REMOVAL
1. Remove the air cleaner (1).
2. Relieve belt tensioner pressure and remove the belt from the pulley (2).
3. Install puller 89 96 423, or equivalent, and remove the pulley (3).
INSTALLATION
1. Install the new pulley on the shaft.
2. Press the new pulley into position, using assembly tool 89 98 415, or equivalent.
3. The pulley should be fitted so that its hub comes 0.5 mm outside the end of the pump shaft.
IMPORTANT: Do not press the pulley in too far.
4. Install the belt on the pulley and restore belt tensioner pressure.
5. Install the air cleaner.
