Subject:
Correcting Complaint of Discharged Battery Due to Fault in ACC
Application
1994-95 900 Models with ACC
Supersedes Technical Service Broadcast dated 01/13/95
In some cases it may be difficult to diagnose the cause of a complaint of a dead battery. On cars with ACC that have a repeated dead battery condition one possibility may be remedied as described below.
First, check to see if the fan for the cabin temperature sensor fails to switch off when the ignition has been switched off (should normally switch off after four minutes).
If the temperature sensor fan continues to run, the problem is caused by an internal fault in the ACC ECM. This can be rectified by grounding pin 3 as detailed on the following page.
Cars Affected:
1994-95 900s equipped with ACC
Parts:
10 cm black cable, 0.5 sq.mm
1 cable terminal 41 15 499
1 wire splice connector 95 60 012
Action:
1. Connect the cable terminal to the black cable and fit it in the vacant position for pin 3 in the ACC ECM connector housing.
2. Connect the other end of the wire with the wire splice connector to the black grounding wire from pin 1 on the connector.
