Fuel Filter: Description and Operation

Fuel Filter:

PURPOSE AND LOCATION
The fuel filter traps contaminants to prevent damage to injection system components. It is in the fuel delivery line prior to the injectors.

CONSTRUCTION
The fuel filter has a metal case to withstand high pressure, a paper filter element and a strainer. The fuel filter is not serviceable and must be replaced, as a unit, at the service intervals recommended by Saab. The fuel filter is fuel flow sensitive and must therefore be installed correctly.
