Fault Diagnosis, Malfunction Indicator and Shift Up Lamps

FAULT DIAGNOSIS, MALFUNCTION INDICATOR AND SHIFT UP LAMPS (SHIFT UP - CERTAIN MARKETS)

Symptom of fault
The lamps do not light up or shine constantly. Note that the operation of both lamps is tested for 3 seconds when the ignition is switched on.

Diagnostic procedure
1. Activate the lamp concerned by selecting the CHECK ENGINE lamp or SHIFT UP lamp in the ISAT menu "ACTIVATE".

- If the lamps do not work, check first that the lamps are intact.
- If the lamps work, the SHIFT UP lamp concerned must first be checked for any diagnostic trouble code for wheel speed (P0500, PO5O1, PO5O2) and remedial action taken if necessary.





2. Check and if necessary remedy the fault in the lead between the Trionic ECM and the main instrument.

Malfunction indicator lamp: Trionic ECM pin 32 to main instrument pin 22.
SHIFT UP lamp: Trionic ECM pin 55 to main instrument pin 39.

- If the leads are OK, continue fault diagnosis in the instruments.
