ABS Light: Description and Operation
The ABS control module monitors the operation of the anti-lock braking system and causes the ABS warning lamp to light up if a fault is detected. The ABS warning lamp is situated in the right-hand part of the main instrument display panel.
When the ABS lamp lights up the anti-lock braking system is disabled and the brakes work just like a conventional braking system.
The lamp is supplied with current in the main instrument display panel and connected to ground by the ABS control module via pin 11 (12p-2) of the main instrument display panel.
When the ignition is switched on the lamp is tested for about 3 seconds. If no fault is detected the lamp will go out.
