Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair






To remove
1 Drain the A/C system of refrigerant.
2 Remove the grille.
3 Remove the horn.
4 Remove the direction indicator on the left-hand side.
5 Remove the headlamp on the left-hand side of the car.
6 Cars with a turbo engine:
Remove the charge air cooler and the pipe between the charge air cooler and intake manifold.
7 Unplug the connector from the receiver's pressure switch (two pressure switches in hot climate markets).
8 Remove the condenser's two retaining bolts and lift out the condenser.
9 Remove the bolt in the receiver's PAD connection. Plug the openings.







To fit
1 Suspend the condenser in position and tighten the two retaining bolts.
2 Install new O-rings on the pipes connected to the receiver. Lubricate the O-rings with synthetic Vaseline.
3 Install the hoses in the PAD connection and tighten the bolt.
Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.6 lb ft)
4 Plug in the connector on the receiver's pressure switch (two pressure switches in hot-climate countries).
5 Cars with a turbo engine:
Refit the charge air cooler.
6 Fill up with compressor oil, carry out vacuum pumping of the A/C system and fill up with refrigerant.
