Heating and Air Conditioning: Adjustments
ADJUSTMENT OF ACC
The ACC control module incorporates facilities for adjusting the parameters of certain functions to suit customer preferences. These functions are:
1. User programming.
2. Parking heater.
3. Indoor temperature.
4. Temperature scale.
5. Recirculation.
The adjustments are described bellow.
User Programming
In the case of user programming by means of the buttons on the ACC panel it is only possible to select the opposite of what the ACC control module has selected in AUTO mode. Using the ISAT, the ACC control module can be user-programmed irrespective of the AUTO setting.
NOTE: User programming carried out with the ISAT will be erased if deprogramming is done with the buttons on the ACC panel.
Parking Heater
The ISAT command "PARKING HEATER" enables changes to be made in the ACC's parking heater mode. When battery positive is applied to pin 3 of the ACC control module, it goes into parking heater mode. Two different control processes can be chosen with the ISAT:
- 100% HEAT (basic setting). The control module sets the mixed-air flap to the position for maximum heat.
- CONTROLLED HEAT. The control module adjusts the mixed-air flap according to the selected indoor temperature.
Indoor Temperature
With the ISAT command "INDOOR TEMPERATURE" it is possible to adjust the way in which the indoor temperature sensor perceives the temperature in the indoor. If the indoor temperature sensor's offset is increased, the temperature in the indoor will be raised by a corresponding number of degrees. Adjustment is carried out in steps of 0.1 °C. A suitable adjustment interval is ±0.3 °C.
NOTE: This adjustment should be carried out with discernment. Adjustment is possible up to ±3 °C. Excessive adjustment, however, will result in the ACC system reacting quite differently when starting from cold. Much lower and much higher temperatures, as well as high fan speeds, may be obtained.
Temperature Scale
With the ISAT command "TEMP SCALE" it is possible to change the temperature shown in the ACC unit's display between Celsius and Fahrenheit. This can also be done by pressing the buttons for temperature up and temperature down simultaneously for at least two seconds.
Recirculation
With the ISAT command "RECIRCULATION" the recirculation flap can be controlled by the speed of the car so that the ACC control module always closes the flap when the car's speed is 0 km/h.
NOTE: Since the ABS control module counts all speeds below 3 km/h as stationary, the ACC control module will open and close the recirculation flap at about 3 km/h.
