Service Procedure
Action:1. Remove the seat as described in Service Manual Section 0 News, M1995.
WARNING
The seat must be in the forward position when it is lifted out of the car. Otherwise. there is a risk of personal injury. If the lateral adjusting handle is touched, the seat runner moves back with great force.

2. Unhook the springs from the lateral adjusting handle. See Figure 1-2.
3. Detach the springs from the seat chassis using a screwdriver. Discard the old springs. See Figure 1-3.
4. Fit the new springs as follows:

a. Place the spring bend in the groove on the seat chassis. See Figure 2-a.
b. Pull the U-bend on the spring into the groove on the seat chassis. See Figure 2-b. Lightly tap the spring at the U-bend to ensure that it is properly attached.
c. Hook the ends of the springs into the notches in the lateral adjusting handle. See Figure 2-c.
5. Refit the seat in the car and check its function. See Service Manual Section 0 News, M1995.
