DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION
The sunroof is operated by means of a two-position switch, and can be opened in two ways:
^ The sunroof can be opened fully or partially by running it rearwards.
^ The rear of the sunroof can be raised.
Current is supplied via fuse 7 to switch 386 for operating the sunroof when the ignition switch is in the Drive position.
^ The sunroof is opened by pressing the trailing edge of the sunroof switch in switch assembly 386. Current is supplied via pin 4 to sunroof motor 182, which is grounded via pin 3 of switch assembly 386.
^ The sunroof is closed by pressing the leading edge of the sunroof switch in switch assembly 386. Current is supplied via pin 3 to sunroof motor 182, which is grounded via pin 4 of switch assembly 386.
Raising And Lowering The Rear Of The Sunroof
Before the sunroof can be raised at the rear it must first be fully closed.
If the ROOF switch is activated for closing when the sunroof is already closed, the rear of the sunroof will be raised.
To lower the rear of the sunroof, the ROOF switch must be operated for opening, i.e. the same position as for opening the sunroof fully. The rear of the sunroof will then be lowered.
FAULT DIAGNOSIS HINTS
The sunroof will be operative when the ignition switch is in the Drive position.
1. Check that fuse 7 is intact and supplied with current.
2. Check that current is present on pin 10 of the switch.
3. Operate the switch and check that the motor is supplied with current.
4. Check the connectors, wiring harness and ground connections.
