Radio-Cassette Player 353
The radio-cassette player has no radio display of its own but uses the SID unit's display for radio indication.

The radio-cassette player features AVC which uses speed information from main instrument display panel 540 to increase or reduce the volume when speed is increased or reduced.

If a mobile telephone is installed in the car, it can be connected so that the volume of the radio is lowered when the telephone is in use.

The "Mute" signal of the mobile telephone is then connected to terminal 2 (connector A) of the radio-cassette player.

The front and rear loudspeakers are wired in connector B of the radio-cassette player as follows:

CD Player 355
The CD player is an optional accessory and includes a changer holding up to 13 CDs.

The CD player is operated from the radio-cassette player, where all the controls are located.

The CD player uses the SID unit's display to show the CD functions.

Motorized Aerial
In the luggage compartment on the left-hand side is a motorized aerial which is supplied with current via fuse 4 and grounded to aerial bracket G27.

When the radio-cassette player is turned on, it sends a 12 V supply on pin 5 of connector A to the aerial's built-in relay, which then operates. The aerial motor raises the aerial.

When the radio cassette is turned off, 12 V is no longer supplied to pin 5. The aerial's relay contacts then change and current is supplied to the aerial motor which retracts the aerial.
