Checking the Flashers

Fault symptom
The flashers shine with a steady light.

Diagnostic procedure
1 Check whether the flashers work by operating the direction indicator stalk or the hazard flasher switch.
If they do not, continue fault diagnosis as described in the "ICE fault diagnosis""Electrical system, instruments".
2 Connect the ISAT and from the menu select "ACTIVATE" and then "FLASHERS". Activate the flashers with "ON".
The flashers should now shine with a steady light.
3 If they do not, select the ISAT menu "OBTAIN READOUTS" (leaving the "activate" function "ON") and then select "FLASHER RELAY". Read the display.
Activated flashers-> "ACTIVE"
If this is not obtained, proceed to point 5.
4 If point 3 is OK, check the wiring for continuity/shorting to the power supply by measuring the resistance across:
- pin 12 of the control module connector and the left-hand flasher lamp connectors.
- pin 25 of the control module connector and the right-hand flasher lamp connectors.
The resistance should be < 1 ohm.
5 Continue with fault diagnosis as described in Before Control Module Replacement.
