System Operation

Cars for certain markets are equipped with a factory-fitted anti-theft alarm. The anti-theft alarm is activated in the anti-theft protection position 45° past the locked position in the driver's door.

Unlocking the door (turn the key 135° from the anti-theft protection position) deactivates the anti-theft alarm.

When the car is activated, engagement of the anti- theft alarm is delayed for 10 seconds. During this 10-second delay period the doors, bonnet and tailgate can be opened without setting off the alarm.

During the delay period the LED will light up continuously and then flash once a second when the alarm is activated.

Doors
If a door or the bonnet is open or opened during the delay period and remains open for more than 10 seconds, the door concerned or the bonnet will no longer be monitored.

When the door or bonnet is closed, a new delay period starts but only for the bonnet or door that was open. The LED will shine with a steady light.

The alarm is still activated on the other doors or the bonnet.

Tailgate
It is possible to open the boot lid with the key when the alarm is activated without setting off the alarm. Tailgate monitoring is then excluded from the alarm. Unlocking and opening the tailgate must be carried out in the following manner to avoid setting off the alarm:
^ Turn the key to the unlocked position.
^ Open the tailgate.
^ Turn the key back to the neutral position.
^ Remove the key.

If the tailgate is opened with the key during the delay period, the LED will flash once a second for 10 seconds.

The alarm will be activated at the end of the delay period but the tailgate will be excluded from monitoring.

When the tailgate is subsequently closed, a new delay period starts but only for the tailgate. The LED shines with a steady light.

The alarm is still activated on the other doors or the bonnet.

Ignition Switch
The alarm cannot be activated when the ignition switch is in the +15 position.

When the alarm is activated, it will be set off if the ignition switch is turned to the +15 or +50 position.

Power Supply And Grounding
The anti-theft alarm control module is supplied with current (+30 circuit) via fuse 23 and grounded on pins 10 and 22.

The control module is supplied with +50 circuit current via fuse 36 and with +15 circuit current via fuse 19.
