TRANSMISSION'S SHIFTING TIMES ARE WRONG

Fault symptom
Warning lamp CHECK GEARBOX lit. The system's emergency program is activated.

Conditions.
The slipping time during a gear shift exceeds 1.3 seconds or falls below 0.3 seconds.

Diagnostic procedure
There is normally some slippage in the torque converter and in clutches and brakes. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) stores the slipping time.

The fault is probably a mechanical fault. The wear on the transmission's mechanical components is so great that the TCM adaptation is lost.
