FAULT P1500
BATTERY VOLTAGE TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW

Fault symptom
Warning lamp CHECK GEARBOX is on. The system's emergency program is activated.

Conditions.
The battery voltage is continually lower than 9 V or higher than 16 V for more than 0.5 seconds.

Diagnostic procedure
1. Measure the battery voltage directly over the battery's terminals. Nominal value is 12 V.

If the measurement result is wrong, <9 V or >16 V, check the Electrical System.

If the measurement result is correct, go to step 2.

2. Connect ISAT scan tool to the car's data link connector. Check that it is possible to establish contact by initiating PART NUMBER in ISAT menu READ SYSTEM INFO.

If the answer is correct, go to step 6.

If no communication can be established, go to step 3.

3. With the ignition switched OFF, connect a BOB between the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and the wiring. Disconnect the connector to the TCM. Check the voltage feed and the ground connections in accordance with the following with the ignition in drive position and then remedy any faults:
^ BATT+ -- pin 17 <0.5 V
^ BATT+ -- pin 18 <0.5 V
^ pin 22 -- BATT- <0.1 V
^ pin 35 -- BATT- <0.1 V.

4. Clear the fault code, start and test drive the car and check if the fault code reappears.

If a fault code is recorded, go to "Actions Before Changing a TCM".
